Job opening: Resource and Studio Administrator

Job Title: Resource and Studio Administrator
Key Internal Reports: Head of Resource/Studio Manager
Key External Reports: Recruitment agencies, top industry talent as appropriate.
Job Type: Permanent and full-time

Job Purpose
The purpose of the role is to assist both the Head of Resource and Studio Manager in all administration activities relevant to the management of the Tribal Studio as well as the recruitment, selection, induction and development of permanent staff/freelance studio resource at Tribal DDB/Radar and Red Urban.

Key Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to, the following areas:
Recruitment
  • To work with the Head of Resource and other senior stakeholders to maintain a live database of potential ‘Talent’ from across the industry. Upload and classify all c.v’s received either by direct means or via recruiters.
  • Upload open vacancies to associated job boards
  • Liaise with Head of Resource to identify changes to resourcing requirements, understanding of candidate profiling and time-lines for recruiting.
  • Liaise with Head of Resource to identify suitable candidates and set up interviews through the recruitment agencies, managing diaries with the relevant Heads of Department.
  • Book and organise appropriate meeting rooms for all interviews and be the first point of contact when the candidate arrives ensuring that you act as an Ambassador for Tribal DDB.
  • Develop and maintain the candidate spreadsheet at all times so that an accurate record of all candidates interviews and those interviewed ensuring that relevant information is readily available to all HOD’s as well as maintaining these records for legal purposes.
  • To assist with setting black book contacts and aiding the Head of Resourcing with search activities including Monster, IPA, Linked In and other associated recruitment sites etc.
  • Ensure that in the absence of the Head of Resource, you cover the relevant workload.
  • Keep up to date and abreast of industry developments relating to recruitment and selection techniques and feedback to the relevant people.
  • Increasing the company’s level of professionalism with the interview process

Staff Retention and Development
  • Maintain new starter records 
  • Work with Head of Resource and HOD to establish effective inductions 
  • Keep all staff new starter materials up to date.
  • Keep appraisal calendar up to date and ensure that staff reviews and appraisals are kept on schedule issue regular report to Head of Resource. 
  • Co-ordinate feedback for staff reviews.
  • Organise, communicate and coordinate all staff social events ensuring occasions meet expectations and are within budget.
  • Work with Head of Resource on ensuring that working environment is in line with all staff welfare issues

Studio Management
  • Report generation for Tribal
  • Manage sick and absence records 
  • Covering for the studio manager absences eg booking resources in Projector 
  • (training will be given)
  • Stationery ordering and management

Desirable
  • Experience of working within a Resource Department 
  • Experience of the digital environment
  • Experience of working with databases

Job opening: Middleweight Flash/Flex Developer

The middleweight Flash/Flex developer is responsible for working within the larger development team on websites and RIAs (rich interactive applications). In this role candidates would be expected to work collaboratively within a project team and support the senior developer/designer in the design and development of the project. A solid understanding of modern development techniques and the elements of good user experience will be crucial to success.

Core Duties/Responsibilities
  • Creating site/application from concept/prototype through to final live version.
  • Following industry standard OOP development practices, eg: MVC/design patterns, solving problems in an elegant fashion.
  • Contributing to creative brainstorming and technical planning sessions.
  • Accurate time estimating, working with project management to ensure projects are delivered on time.
  • Capable of working independently on smaller projects or within a team on larger projects.
  • Collaboration with other team members both within the department and from other departments, help define scope of projects, identify and solve problems.
  • Maintaining high levels of coding standards and user experience in all projects, attention to detail both on the inside of a project and the outside.

Required Skills
  • Excellent knowledge of programming using Actionscript 3 and/or MXML.
  • Familiarity using OOP development techniques.
  • Knowledge of XML, CSS. HTML and Javascript an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Subversion or other revision control systems assumed.
  • Familiarity with development tools such as FlexBuilder, Eclipse/FDT or TextMate on Mac.
  • Experience using standard Adobe CS3/4 tools
  • Ability to create pure 100% code based projects, no reliance on Flash timeline!
  • Experience creating code based animations/graphical effects.
  • Familiarity with libraries such as Papervision 3D, Away 3D, PureMVC or similar.
  • Good eye for design and overall user experience.
  • Other server side experience/languages an advantage, but not required.

The Role

The role would be to assist with web site maintenance and updates, production of emotive content throughout the site as well as rich media advertising campaigns and html email (eCRM).

As an Associate Project Manager you will ideally have:
  • Min 2 years digital experience
  • To demonstrate proven experience of project management to include web site development, on-line advertising, management of html email mail outs.
  • Mature responsible outlook, able to work independently when required, safe pair of hands, good attention to detail, proactive and an enthusiastic team player
  • A excellent understanding of the process and documentation involved in the flawless execution and delivery of projects.
  • The ability to work in a deadline driven, sometimes pressured environment
  • To be able to communicate well with a variety of people from Creative Directors to Technical consultants and Account Management
  • A good understanding of HTML and Flash as technologies would be essential.
  • A good working knowledge of Word, Excel, and MS Project
